Downham Market, Norfolk: screen painting

The inspiration for the panels came from the marquetry decoration on the front of the Georgian west gallery at Downham. But the colours and the indication of relief (derived from an unfolded origami dove) suggests medieval diaper work – a suitable background for the Victorian Gothic font.
